Karen Zuccardi is the Ecosystem Director of Venture Development at TEDCO, where she leads statewide initiatives that support technology entrepreneurs, strengthen Maryland’s innovation ecosystem, and expand access to capital, mentorship, and strategic resources for early-stage companies.
She oversees programs including the Rural and Urban Business Innovation Initiative (RUBII), the BRIDGE program, and the Equitech Growth Fund, collaborating with founders, investors, universities, government partners, and Entrepreneurial Support Organizations across Maryland. Her work supports innovators developing solutions across emerging technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, blockchain, advanced manufacturing, quantum technologies, and other high-growth industries.
With a background in international business, sustainable development, and public service, Karen is passionate about helping entrepreneurs commercialize innovative technologies, scale their ventures, and build a more connected and competitive innovation ecosystem.
In addition to her work at TEDCO, Karen serves in the Maryland Air National Guard Reserves. Her experience supporting both the innovation and national security communities provides a unique perspective on the commercialization of dual-use technologies that serve both commercial and defense markets.
