Membership FAQ

Membership FAQ

Does my membership renew automatically?

Yes. All memberships run for one year and renew automatically for another year unless you cancel first, and we only set that up if you consented to it at checkout. We will always email you between 15 and 45 days before a renewal to tell you the date and the exact amount, so a renewal will never be the first you hear of it.

How do I cancel?

Any of the following ways, whichever suits you. None of them requires you to speak to a representative or explain yourself:

If I cancel, do I lose access straight away?

No. Cancelling stops future charges immediately, but you keep your membership and every benefit that comes with it until the end of the term you have already paid for. On that date the membership simply ends.

Will I get a refund?

Annual dues are non-refundable once a term has started, with one exception: if an automatic renewal charge catches you out, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it in full and close the membership. We would rather refund a renewal you did not want than keep a member who did not want to be one.

What notice will I get before I am charged?

A reminder by email no less than 15 and no more than 45 days before the renewal takes effect. It states that the membership renews unless you cancel, the length and price of the new term, every way you can cancel, a direct link to do it, and how to reach us. Most members also get a courtesy heads-up around 90 days out, which is a convenience rather than a formal notice.

What if the price has gone up?

We will tell you the new amount in the renewal reminder before it is charged, never after. If you do not want to continue at the new rate, cancel before the renewal date and nothing is charged.

My organisation pays for my membership. Does any of this change?

No. The same renewal terms, the same advance notice, and the same cancellation routes apply to every membership level, from Student through to our founding tiers. If the person who should receive the renewal notice is not you, a finance contact for instance, tell us and we will add them to the membership record.

What rights do I have under Maryland law?

Maryland’s automatic renewal law (Md. Code, Commercial Law § 14-1328, in force since 1 June 2026) requires us to disclose renewal terms clearly before you buy, obtain your consent before charging automatically, remind you 15 to 45 days before each renewal, and give you a way to cancel that is at least as easy as the way you signed up. We have built our membership terms to meet each of those. If you think we have fallen short, tell us first at info@marylandblockchainassociation.org, and you may also contact the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office.

How do I change my tier or my payment details?

Sign in to your account, or email info@marylandblockchainassociation.org. A tier change takes effect at your next renewal.
